Are you passionate about bioinformatics and enjoy sharing your knowledge? We’re seeking a skilled Bioinformatics Trainer to join our team on a part-time basis!
Job Description:
- Provide online training and internship guidance in emerging areas of bioinformatics
- Commit to 2 hours of work as a side gig
Key Responsibilities of Bioinformatics Trainer:
- Develop and deliver engaging online training sessions
- Guide participants through hands-on bioinformatics projects
- Stay updated with the latest trends and tools in bioinformatics
- Provide mentorship and support to interns
Emerging Areas of Focus:
We’re particularly interested in trainers with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Machine Learning-based approaches in structural bioinformatics
- Single-cell omics (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics)
- Spatial transcriptomics and multi-omics integration
- Machine learning and AI applications in bioinformatics
- Long-read sequencing data analysis
- Metagenomics and microbiome analysis
- Systems biology and network analysis
- Epigenomics and non-coding RNA analysis
- Pharmacogenomics and precision medicine
- Cloud computing and big data analysis in bioinformatics
- Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) and population genetics
- Functional genomics and gene regulation analysis
Requirements:
- Advanced degree (Ph.D./M.Tech./M.sc) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field
- Proven experience in bioinformatics research or industry applications
- Excellent communication and teaching skills
- Proficiency in programming languages relevant to bioinformatics (e.g., Python, R)
- Familiarity with current bioinformatics tools and databases
Desired Skills:
- Experience in online teaching or training
- Expertise in one or more of the listed areas of bioinformatics
- Publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Familiarity with popular bioinformatics workflows and pipelines
