According to Google DeepMind’s official blog, the company has released AlphaGenome Atlas, a free platform offering precomputed predictions for the molecular effects of all 9 billion possible single-nucleotide variants in the human genome.
Built on DeepMind’s AlphaGenome model, the Atlas also introduces the AVI (AlphaGenome Variant Impact) score, a single ranking number combining AlphaGenome and AlphaMissense predictions, covering both coding and non-coding regions of the genome.
DeepMind says early academic collaborators have already used the Atlas to identify disease-linked variants in rare disease and population genetics research. The company describes the release as a “baseline rather than an endpoint,” with further model improvements expected.
The Atlas is available now via a web portal and API for academic use, with commercial access on Google Cloud “soon.”
