Introduction to exome sequencing
What exome sequencing is and where it is used.

Data acquisition and quality control
Download data, check quality and trim reads. Tools: FastQC, MultiQC.

Alignment to a reference genome
Align reads and work with alignment files. Tools: BWA-MEM, SAMtools.

Post-alignment processing
Mark duplicates and recalibrate base quality scores. Tools: Picard, GATK.
05
Variant calling
Call SNPs and indels and explore VCF files. Tool: GATK HaplotypeCaller.
06
Variant filtering and annotation
Filter and annotate variants. Tools: GATK, bcftools, ANNOVAR, snpEff.
07
Functional interpretation
Prioritize and score variants. Tools: SIFT, PolyPhen, CADD.

Do I need prior experience?
A basic understanding of bioinformatics and genomics is expected.
What will I need on my computer?
A computer running Windows 10/11, macOS or Linux, with a reliable internet connection. Google Meet runs in your web browser.
What if I miss a live session?
Every session is recorded, and you get access to the recordings.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. The certificate is awarded on completing the course assignment.
