Theory into practice, step by step
Five modules covering the essential tools and techniques of bioinformatics.

Bioinformatics fundamentals
What bioinformatics is, its applications and its fundamental components.

Databases in bioinformatics
The major biological databases and how to use them.

Gene prediction and sequence alignment
Predict genes and compare sequences with alignment tools.
04
Phylogenetics and structural biology
Phylogenetic analysis and an introduction to structural biology.
05
NGS and AI/ML in bioinformatics
An introduction to NGS techniques and to AI and machine learning in biology.

Do I need prior experience?
No prior bioinformatics experience is needed: the course is designed for beginners.
What will I need on my computer?
A computer running Windows 10/11, macOS or Linux, with a reliable internet connection. Google Meet runs in your web browser.
What if I miss a live session?
Every session is recorded, and you get access to the recordings.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. The certificate is awarded on completing the course assignment.
