Python programming for biological data
Five modules that take you from your first Python script to analyzing sequences with Biopython.

Python fundamentals
Introduction to Python, installation, data types, data structures and control flow. Tool: Python.

Getting started with Biopython
Installing Biopython and the core libraries used alongside it. Tools: Biopython, Pandas, NumPy, Logomaker.

Sequence analysis and retrieval
Read, manipulate and retrieve biological sequences. Tool: Biopython.

Data visualization
Plot and present biological data.

Alignment and annotation
Align sequences and work with annotations.

Course fees

Do I need prior experience?
No prior experience or coding is needed: this is a foundation course.
What will I need on my computer?
A computer running Windows 10/11, macOS or Linux, with a reliable internet connection. Google Meet runs in your web browser.
What if I miss a live session?
Every session is recorded, and you get access to the recordings.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. The certificate is awarded on completing the course assignment.
