    At Amphista we take the quality and how we access, analyse and share data seriously As a result we are expanding our bioinformatics and data science team and are looking for innovative and highly motivated Senior/Principal Bioinformatician to join us. You will be responsible for driving development of databases that let us understand the best targets and approaches to deliver novel therapies to patients. We will be mining the public datasets, interrogating the data as well as integrating the increasingly large datasets we are generating in house on Amphista’s completely novel degrader molecules. The applicant will work closely with the R&D team members across all Amphista’s projects to process, store and visualise external and internal omics data types to help addressing key drug discovery questions. Contributing to Amphista’ drug development program as a technical expert and developing the strategy top ensure all scientists can access and make use of the data.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate and communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams of experts in biology, chemistry, and bioinformatics
    • Drive and develop data analysis tools facilitating our drug discovery programs
    • Provide computational structural biology input to our programs
    • Contribute to updating our Bioinformatics databases

    Experience

    Essential:

    • Proficient with bioinformatics tools for computational modelling of protein structure mining (Rosetta, etc.)
    • Familiarity with protein visualization software
    • Experience with protein sequence analysis (HMMER,etc)
    • Expertise in mining publicly available datasets relevant to drug discovery
    • Skilled in data integration
    • Strong programming skills in Python and/or R
    • Experience with version control and cloud computing
    • Ability to communicate clearly technical concepts to multi-disciplinary teams

    Desirable:

    • Experience in building visualisation tools and front-end technologies
    • Experience in drug discovery preferably within a fast-paced biopharma or biotech environment leading informatics projects

    Education and Qualification

    • MSc or above in bioinformatics, biophysics, computer science, life science or a similar area
    • Highly motivated proactive individual keen to take ownership
    • Ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining quality
    • Can-do attitude
