The Bardy lab is looking for Postdoctoral Researchers with a strong track record and interest in bioinformatics, electrophysiology and human neurobiology. The Bardy lab’s cutting-edge research focuses on modelling human neurological disorders in vitro with patient-derived brain tissue.
The primary focus of this project will be to discover/evaluate electro-pharmaceutics for Parkinson’s disease, childhood-onset dementia and brain cancer. In addition, there will be opportunities to innovate stem cell biotechnologies to model the human brain in vitro.
The Postdoctoral Researchers will work in a vibrant and collaborative team with state-of-the-art equipment located at SAHMRI to contribute to the analysis of patient-derived neurons.
Mentoring for career progression will be provided. The position and research project is fully funded for two years with possibilities for extension. The start date is flexible.
Salary: $80,000 – $110,000; guide only – negotiable based on qualifications and experience (e.g., track record of grant/publication success, skills).

About You
All candidates with a strong track record are encouraged to apply if they have specific qualifications in at least one or more of the following areas:
- Electrophysiology
- Bioinformatics (e.g., data analysis, machine learning)
- Programming (e.g., python, R, Matlab)
- Neurobiology
- Molecular biology (Genomics, RNA-seq)
- Human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC)
- Neurodegenerative disease (e.g., Parkinson’s disease)
We expect the candidates to have:
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative team and supervise research students
- Attention to detail and scientific research integrity
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines
- Ability to contribute innovative publications in high-impact scientific journals
- PhD or equivalent skills relevant to the qualifications outlined above
- At least 2 years’ relevant work experience
