    The successful candidate will join a global team of data scientists, software engineers, computational scientists, develop efficient data management and visualization solution and scale computational analytics to support cutting edge approaches for biopharmaceutical discovery and development of new modalities such as siRNA, gene editing.

    This position is responsible for understanding the scientific challenges, translating that to technology requirements, design and develop the software solutions to propel scientific discovery. The work includes but not limited to automate genomics analysis, develop analytics, and scale the computing to support the molecule selection decisions in early discover portfolio. This position is based in Lilly Cambridge, while collaborates with global team, across multiple Lilly sites: Indianapolis and San Diego.

    The successful candidate will leverage their knowledge of modern genomics analysis, oligonucleotide science, bioinformatics, strong problem solving, and software development skills to:

    • Working with oligonucleotide modality scientists on predict and rationalize on-target/off-target effects in the design of novel antisense oligonucleotides utilizing transcriptomic analysis
    • Integrate both internal and external access to oligonucleotide drug product property data at scale
    • Design and develop visualization to relate molecular structure to drug property; relate formulation to efficacy for data-driven decision making
    • Research, investigate and implement analytics to enable new ways of exploring and interrogating oligonucleotide molecular property, formulation space, achieving significant advances in the speed, scale and success
    • Partner with colleagues in siRNA scientists, data engineers, and high throughput screening groups to develop and expand our suite of in silico oligonucleotide drug design tools

    Basic Qualifications:

    • ​PhD in computer science, bioinformatics, computational chemist, or related technical field
    • Minimum two-year experiences in genomics analysis and bioinformatics technologies, such as transcriptomic analysis
    • Minimum two-year experiences in applications of data mining, machine learning algorithms such as SVM, ANN, SNN, etc.
    • Minimum three-year experiences in one of the programming languages such as Python, R, PHP, Perl
    • Minimum two-year experiences in Unix/Linux OS and shell scripting with experience of cluster or cloud computing (e.g. AWS)

    Additional Skills:

    • Skills in integration of large multimodal data sets, such as different omics platforms, preferably with experience of single cell transcriptomics data
    • Ability to work independently to analyze customer requirements and design solutions
    • Ability to communicate and operate effectively across our multi-disciplinary, global environment and take own initiatives
    • Demonstrated track record of agile learning and strong problem-solving skills
    • Experience in Pharmaceutical company or life science industry is desired not required
    • Knowledge in Lipid nanoparticles, siRNA is desired not required
